It’s time to start

Yesterday, my husband and I spent some time hanging out with my brother and his wife. Ashely,( my brother) is an elementary gym teacher, with a wonderful imagination. He loves making up games and stories to entertain and inspire his students, and of course they love every minute of it. He wants to take his stories and begin writing children’s books.

While he has not shortage of ideas, he’s not so good at putting them into action. As we were talking about book ideas, he mentioned that I seem to be so good at taking my ideas and actually doing them.  He’s right. But, I wasn’t always that way.

My guess is that you’re a lot like my brother. You have a lot of great ideas, but can’t seem to get them started, or you start, but never finish.

Seven years ago, I realized that I was a good starter, but a horrible finisher. Really, I didn’t finish much of anything. But unfinished work doesn’t go out in the world, it doesn’t get seen, it doesn’t make a difference. I needed to change .

So I started signing up. Money and deadlines have an interesting way of making things get finished. I signed up for craft shows, classes, and committed to creating work for special events. And guess what, things started to get finished. It felt good, and through time it became a habit.

You haven’t signed up for this round of Changing Minds, because you think that you’ll have more time, and you’ll do it the next round.

You’re not sure that you want to spend that kind of money on yourself.

Let me tell you something, you need a catalyst to help you start everyday. There is never a perfect time to start, so you might as well start now. You’ll have lifetime access to the content, so if it takes you a bit longer that’s okay. And if you get started today, you’ll be able to make that money back no problem.

Stop the cycle of letting your good ideas dies. Get started!
