What to do When You Realize you Got into the Wrong Car + Weaving Lessons

The dangers of the key-less car entry. My mom and I walked out of the store, let’s say that it was Target, because that’s pretty much the only store that I go to. My mom hit the unlock button and we crawled into the red Ford minivan.

As I reached over to buckle my seat belt, I commented on her new basket, sitting between our seats, wondering how I missed it on the ride to the store, assuming that I must have been caught up in conversation.

She looked down, and with horror and surprise, said, ” That’s not mine.”

In that moment we realized that we were in THE WRONG CAR.

Quickly, we hopped out, hoping that the rightful owners wouldn’t see us emerging from their car, and continued to find the red Ford mini van that was actually ours.

In our usual style we laughed hysterically, and as we recounted the story to my dad and brother, they didn’t fall over with surprise.

Confession time. My mom and I are good at things like teaching, she’s an awesome organizer ( ask her about her bag system), I’m good at making things, but we are not so good at remembering where we park our cars.

That’s why I’m not offering to run errands with your kids, I’ll leave that up to you, the expert. Instead, I’m offering to do what I am good at, and that’s teaching + weaving.
