How to Make sure your art students are on track

principles of design

This is a good one to tuck away for a rainy day ( or a sub plan!!!) We like doing what we’re used to doing, our students are the same way, and I can’t really blame them. But in AP art they really need to push themselves, demonstrate an understanding of the principles of art, and uncover interesting ways to use them. Usually about half way through the course, we take a look at new portfolio examples and then I have them fill out the 2D  tracking sheet. This allows them to come up with a plan for where they need to go next.

Use the video below as inspiration, or give it to sub to play to the class  then have them work in filling out their 2D tracking sheet. There’s not perfect time that the needs to be completed, making it a perfect addition to your emergency sub folder.
