Let’s get the pARTy stARTed. 3 lessons for Secondary ART teachers
The start of a new school year or semester always comes with a lot of emotions. There’s excitement, nerves, overwhelm, and the feeling of wondering if you’re good enough, and most importantly if any of your friends are going to be in your class.
While students are comparing schedules, us teachers, and writing lessons, stretching our creative muscles and striving to come with activities and projects that will help our students to learn, to make connections, and to feel a little bit less nervous about making ART. Over the years I’ve tried lots of things, and today I’m sharing my and my students 3 favorites.
Side note: my video and computer went a bit crazy, and the sound doesn’t totally match the movement of my voice, but folks it’s HOT, and I wanted to squeeze this one in for you, so if you must, close your eyes and listen, or just forgive me for not being perfect.
To make up for the wonky video, I did make you a PDF. It has the 3 lessons written out, plus some of those handy dandy learning objectivos and National Art standards. ( You’re welcome )
