Online Art Classes for High School Students

Advanced Art Classes Online

You know that you love art and that you’re good at it, but you feel stuck in a rut, and like you’ve taken your work as far as you can without help. You’re thinking about wanting a creative career after high school, but you and your parents, just aren’t sure what your options are, what they look like, and what kind of skills you need to have in order to make them happen.

You’re starting to look at colleges, and you want to be sure that you are both prepared and that your high school transcript will get you accepted into the school of your dreams.

You know that art and creativity are important. Art tells stories, design changes lives, and creative thinking solves problems. You’ve always been complimented on your artistic skills and interest in the arts, now you want to develop and hone in your knowledge and skills.

AP Art courses are designed to help to build your skills, confidence, and help you to be better prepared for your creative future.

I’m both a teacher and a working artist, which allows me to approach art from both sides of the coin. I”ll help you to understand:

  • -Art History, why artist do what they do
  • – Composition, how do you know when a work of art is done
  • – You’ll learn to develop your own voice as an artist, and uncover how to show your voice in your work
  • – You’ll get glimpses into the lives of other artists, and begin to understand the countless career options related to the arts
  • – You’ll hone in on your skills, and develop new tricks and techniques

I offer three  AP Art courses online, allowing students all over the world access.

The number one question people ask is, how do you take an art course online?

Instead of trying to explain it, I decided to let you experience it through a free video series.

When you see how the class is designed, how lessons are delivered, and what the college board needs from you, you’ll feel confident about choosing which course is best for you.

When you sign up below you’ll receive 4 videos along with a FREE downloadable workbook. The videos will be delivered to your inbox, one at a time every three days.

FAQ

Is it okay if I don’t live in Pa? Yes, even though I teach through PA homeschoolers, it doesn’t matter where you live. As long as you have access to the internet.

If I live outside of the USA can I still take the course? You bet, while there is a live call each week, all course content is delivered via video and worksheets, that you can access at any time. I do the best that I can to work with all time zones in the live calls, but if you can’t make it, there is always a recording.

Do I have to be homeschooled in order to take a class with you? No, you don’t. Students take online AP courses for all sorts of reasons.

Does it really work to take art classes online? Yes, it does. I’ve taught art both in person and online, and while there are pros and cons to both, in the age of video, taking art courses online are a wonderful opportunity. I’m able to show you everything that I could if you were sitting in a classroom in front of me.

What if I just want to take the course to better my art skills, but don’t want to try for the AP Credit? That’s fine, and up to you and your parents. You have two options. One, you can audit the course, you’ll see more about that on the course page. Or you can take the course for a grade and choose not to submit a portfolio or sit for the written test at the end.

Will you help me with deciding where to go to school, recommendation letters, and things like that? You bet!

Challenging, but great experience

I didn’t take this course bc I wanted an A or to get a 5 on the AP test( although those would be nice bonuses;)) I took it bc I wanted to really learn about art not for college not for a grade not to be a Smart Alec but just to learn about some of the most incredible people…. artists
Teachers are often underestimated in our modern society but they really are a beautiful thing..
Amber Kane gave me a gift I will have forever and never forget…. she gave me knowledge and I am  eternally grateful and will always remember this year as fun challenging… and well more challenging.
I really loved taking this class . It was really challenging (in a good way!) and interesting. I really loved the assignments, especially the paper. Amber Kane made it fun, and the assignments were educational, not just for preparing me for the AP test.
