Creative Careers: Have you Heard of Sketchnoting?
As an Art Teacher, one of the most common concerns I hear is that you’re not going to be able to find a job.
This concern usually stems from not being aware of the many creative career options that exist, and there are A LOT.
Sketchnoting is a powerful tool to use on your own to help you to remember experiences, books, or lectures. It’s something that you should try, even if you don’t think that you’re great a drawing. All you need to be able to do is draw a few shapes and lines and you’re ready to go. This is something that I like to encourage my online AP Art History students to do, to help them remember their reading.
Besides, being a great tool to help us remember, it’s also a career! In the video below, Emily Mills will walk you through steps to get you started with your own sketchnoting, however, I also want to make sure that you don’t miss the part where she shares that companies hire her to sketchnote meetings and events. She’s been hired by companies like Delta, Subway, and Barkbox.
Want to see sketchnoting in action?
If you love to draw and are thinking that it’s something that you want to do for a career, take a few hours and start to explore sketchnoting.
