Online Art Courses for High School Students

One of the most common questions that I used to receive was, “How does it work to take an art class online?” And while, there are still some people that ask that question, because of COVID-19, we’re quickly figuring out how to teach EVERYTHING online.

The good news for you, is that I didn’t start teaching online overnight, or because I had to, I did it because I wanted to provide greater access to AP Art and AP Art History classes, to students, like you, that otherwise wouldn’t have access.

Before starting to teach online, I selected to earn my Masters in Education, with a focus on Creativity, online. This allowed me to spend a lot of time thinking about the students’ experience and perspective, as I was the student.

Today, I want to give you a tour of Google Classroom, this is the platform that you’ll use to submit your work, ask questions, and interact with your classmates.

Below is an example of how you will submit your work within Google Classroom

And finally, how to check your grades. Grades within the online AP Studio Art courses and AP Art History courses are updated every week, so that you can always see what your grade is.

In case you missed it, we also had an AP Art Q&A session.

Registration for AP Studio Art courses as well as AP Art History courses is now open.
