High School Homeschool Curriculum

Another school year is just around the corner. I’m so excited for the next round of AP Art and Art History classes to start. I also want to be sure that if it’s something that you’re considering, you have all of the information that you need.

Today we’re going to focus on the audit option.

The two main ways that people take advantage of the audit option are:

1. They use it as their own art curriculum.
2. They use it as more of an intro to art course. So if you have a child that’s interested in art, but not quite ready for AP many people select to audit AP 2D Design, and then take the AP Drawing course for credit the following year.
3. Many people use the AP Art History class for curriculum. The Art History course also is a great connection to teaching world history and world cultures.

If you’re thinking about doing both courses or are looking to use a course as your own art course, I always recommend starting with 2D Design. Understanding 2D design tends to be a bit easier and lays a great foundation for drawing.

If you’re selecting the audit option, you don’t need to complete the application.

If you want to audit, all that you need to do is submit payment to PA homeschoolers, then you’ll receive an email from me with information about gaining access to the course website. You can find more information about payment here. To audit, you need to send a check and include a note about which course you wish to audit.

A few other important notes about auditing:

1. You will not receive a grade from me for the course.
2. You can still choose to submit your portfolio to the college board.
3. You are not able to ask me, the instructor, questions.
4. You do not receive feedback from me, the instructor.
5. You are invited to the live class calls.
6. You have access to all of the course content.
