Tips on Art + Homeschooling

As a homeschool parent, it can be hard to know what to teach, especially when it comes to subjects that aren’t your favorite, or that you don’t have much experience with.

When it comes to teaching art, I get a lot of questions about, what to teach, and how to teach it. A great place to start is to explore the National Core Arts Standards. Yes, Art has standards too.

Many states write and adopt their own standards, if you’re curious about your state do a quick google search, or head over to Instagram (teacher.kane) and ask me. Even if your state has its own standards the National standards are a good place for you to get started.

The website can be a little confusing, so get you started I created a video. After you watch the video, head the NCAS website and start to explore.
