Understanding the Requirements for AP Studio Art Courses?
As you start to think about taking an AP Studio Art class, you’re trying to decide if you have the time in your schedule to create all of the needed work.
Let’s take a look at what is required for the AP portfolio.
The portfolio is made up of 15 digital images that you submit to the college board. Those images should relate to the sustained investigation topic that you select and work through, throughout the course. The 15 digital images can be a combination of finished pieces, images from your sketchbook, and process images.
The number of total completed pieces will vary based on your work process, style, and overall goals. You might love to work in your sketchbook and spend a significant amount of time planning, you might end up submitting less finished piece( maybe 5-7) and more sketchbook work. Other students strongly dislike working in their sketchbook and focus more on producing finished pieces, so they would submit more finished pieces, and less process work.
